10,000 dials, 1,000 human answers and 2,000 other answers. 5,000 rounded phone minutes and 13,000 rounded browser minutes.

Telnyx publishes a starting SIP rate. Its exact destination rate and any extra API charges for your call design need verification. A full Telnyx total is unavailable. No carrier savings percentage is calculated.

The example inputs are assumptions. They are not Redialler usage data or industry averages. The calculator sends no input to a carrier.

US local outbound phone leg$0.0140 / minute

US local outbound list rate. Alaska is $0.0945/minute and is outside this model.

From $0.0050; exact rate needs verification / minute

Published US local SIP rate starts at $0.005/minute. The exact destination/account rate needs verification; it is not a flat nationwide quote.

Additional outbound API fee$0.00 / minute

Included in the Programmable Voice outbound rate; no separate platform fee is added here.

$0.0020 / minute

Voice API or TeXML fee on outbound prospect minutes, added to SIP charges. Other architecture-specific API legs need account verification.

Browser / app leg$0.0040 / minute

Separate browser/app call leg, including its connected waiting time.

$0.0020 / minute

Published browser/app feature charge. This model does not assume it covers other architecture-specific API charges.

US local number$1.15 / number/month

US local number. Toll-free numbers and emergency calling are outside this model.

$1.00 / number/month

Public US local base rate; SMS/MMS capability add-ons and volume discounts are excluded.

One recording of each human conversation. The model rounds each conversation up to a minute.

$0.0020 / minute

One recording of each human conversation; minute rounding is a planning assumption for this feature.

Recording storage$0.0005 / recorded minute/month

Gross storage budget before account-level allowances or volume discounts; assumes the modeled inventory is stored all month.

$0.00 / recorded minute/month

The public Voice API rate card explicitly lists call recording storage at $0/minute. This is not an unlimited-retention promise.

Conference participant$0.0018 / participant minute

US-region conference participant rate, charged in addition to voice legs.

$0.0020 / participant minute

Feature charge per participant, per minute, in addition to voice connectivity.

Standard answering machine detection$0.0075 / call

Standard answering machine detection. Premium detection is excluded. The model applies standard detection to every dial when drops are enabled.

How the estimate works

Count the call legs

Dials = reps × dials per rep per day × working days. Human and voicemail percentages apply to all dials. The remaining calls are assumed to stay unanswered. Each modeled call uses the same duration within its group.

Phone minutes include human conversations and other answered calls. Other-answer time includes voicemail greetings, detection and playback when used. Truly unanswered prospect legs contribute no phone minutes. This is a planning assumption; your call records determine actual charges.

Per-call mode keeps the browser connection open during ringing and the answer. Conference mode bills one prejoined rep session per day, plus a prospect participant for each human conversation. Voicemail stays outside the conference. Parallel calls that answer and are then canceled, transfers, supervisors and extra legs are outside this model.

Account for rounding and retention

Twilio documents separate voice and client usage with minute rounding. Telnyx documents 60/60 increments. The calculator rounds each modeled voice leg up before multiplying by call count. An average duration alone cannot reproduce a real mixture of short and long calls.

Recording is limited to human conversations. The model rounds each recorded conversation to a minute, assumes recording pauses during conference waits, and applies that same conservative planning rule to both providers. Verify feature-specific rounding on your bill. It does not record voicemail.

Storage budget = monthly recorded minutes × retained months × storage rate. It assumes that inventory stays stored for the whole month. Twilio account allowances, average inventory changes, deletion timing and volume discounts are excluded. Telnyx lists storage at $0; confirm retention terms separately.

Excluded: tax, carrier and regulatory surcharges, Alaska and international destinations, inbound calls, toll-free numbers, emergency calling, SMS, branded caller ID, transcription, media streams, premium detection, extra API legs, CPS capacity and short-duration-call surcharges. Automated voicemail drops assume standard answering machine detection on every dial; a different design changes the bill.

Build a dialer or buy one?

A carrier API gives you control of your call design, number inventory and billing. A custom dialer also needs browser audio, session state, call queues, webhook validation, retries, consent handling, CRM writes, recording retention and support. Budget engineering and maintenance separately from carrier usage.

An existing dialer can reduce the work your team owns. Check its CRM fit, carrier model, pricing, call controls and compliance features. The right choice depends on your requirements and the time you can maintain a calling system.

Frequently asked questions

Does this include the browser call leg?

Yes. A browser dialer uses a separate agent connection. Per-call mode includes assumed ringing time and rounds each leg separately. Conference mode includes the rep's full daily session and participant charges.

Is Telnyx's $0.002 rate the full outbound price?

No. Telnyx lists a Voice API or TeXML fee plus a separate SIP trunking charge. Its US local SIP rate starts at $0.005 per minute. Verify your destination and account rates before budgeting a full bill.

Do unanswered calls cost money?

This model assigns no prospect voice minutes to a truly unanswered call. A voicemail, IVR or other answered connection is billable and is included in the other-answer inputs. The connected browser leg or conference session can still incur charges while the prospect phone rings.

Does this quote a complete carrier bill?

No. The tool models the listed public-rate components and stated assumptions. It excludes taxes, surcharges, inbound calls, discounts, CPS capacity charges, short-call surcharges and other add-ons. Telnyx's exact destination rate and architecture-specific extra API charges need verification.

Can I use this without an account?

Yes. You can view the example results and official source table without an account or JavaScript. Enable JavaScript to change the assumptions. The calculator does not send your inputs to a carrier.
