Answer the concern without pressure

Use these original examples to respond to the concern the person actually raised. A question is an invitation to continue. It is not a reason to ignore a clear refusal. These scripts are not legal advice.

Not interested

The recipient declines your offer.

Understood. Thank you for telling me. I will end the call here. If you also want no further sales calls from [company], I can record that request.

Next step: End the call. Record and honor any request to stop contact through your team's suppression process.

Send me an email

The recipient prefers written information.

Sure. Which part would be useful: [topic A] or [topic B]? I will keep it brief. What business email address should I use, and would you prefer to respond when ready rather than schedule another call?

Next step: Send only the information requested. Follow your email compliance process separately.

We already use another provider

The team already has a product or service for the task.

That makes sense. If the current setup meets your needs, there may be no reason to change it. Is there a specific gap you want to solve, or should I leave it there?

Next step: Discuss a real gap if they name one. Do not make unsupported claims about the other provider.

We do not have budget

The recipient says that spending is not available.

Thank you for being clear. I do not want to schedule a meeting that cannot help. Would you like a short summary for a later review, or should I close this out?

Next step: Respect the choice. Record a future date only if they agree to it.

This is a bad time

The person cannot talk now.

Understood. Would you like me to call at a time you choose, send a short note, or leave it here?

Next step: Let them choose. Confirm the time zone for an agreed callback.

I am not the right person

The contact does not own the task you named.

Thanks for clarifying. Is there a public team address or role I should contact about [task]? No need to share a personal number.

Next step: Accept a referral without pressure. Verify the new contact and calling permissions before outreach.

Record the agreed outcome

  • Keep the prospect's words in the call notes. Distinguish no budget from no interest.
  • For a callback, confirm the date, local time, and time zone.
  • For an email request, record the topic and the business email address the person provided.
  • Handle stop-contact requests through your suppression process before another call is queued.

Frequently asked questions

How should I respond to a sales objection?

Acknowledge what the person said. Ask a useful question only if they want to continue. Agree on a next step or end the call. These scripts are examples, not promises of a conversion.

What if someone says they are not interested?

Accept the answer and end the call. If they ask for no further contact, record and honor the request through your team's suppression process.

Should I criticize the prospect's existing provider?

Do not make claims you cannot support. Ask whether there is a specific gap. If the existing service meets their needs, acknowledge that.

Can I filter and copy these responses for free?

Yes. Choose an industry or role, then copy the relevant response. Replace each bracketed detail before use. No account is required.
