Recording and consent
Last updated 4 September 2026
Redialler can record every call, with or without a spoken notice, or record nothing. Recording is on by default. Telling people a call is recorded is your responsibility where the law requires it. This guide covers settings, consent, and transcripts.
Recording settings
- Off: nothing is recorded. Transcripts are not produced.
- Record without announcement: every call is recorded and nothing is played to the person. Use this only where one-party consent applies.
- Announce before recording: Redialler plays a short recording notice at the start of the call, then records.
The mode is set per workspace in Setup. Recording must also be enabled for the workspace before a mode other than Off takes effect. Reps see Recording active on the call screen when a call is being recorded.
Consent
Most US states allow one party to a call to record it. Around a dozen states require every party to consent. If you call into an all-party state, tell the person the call is recorded at the start and get a yes before you continue.
See the full list in Call recording consent by US state. When a list mixes states, the safe choice is to follow all-party rules for everyone.
This page is not legal advice. Check the rules that apply to your team with a lawyer.
Transcripts
Transcripts are produced from recordings. If recording is off, there is no transcript and no AI note. Transcription runs after the call ends, and the result is attached to the Attio note within a few minutes.
Recordings are held by Redialler only while they are processed. Once uploaded to Attio, the Attio copy is the durable one.
